Emerging Swedish indie pop act Soso wrote, recorded, and self-produced each track on her new album, That Time I Dug So Deep I Ended Up In China, in the bedroom of her apartment. The result is a record that is lyrically raw yet undeniably pop, and most of all, an intensely personal journey into the heart of Soso. Last week, Soso took DIY to a whole new level, releasing her new video for album track “Happy People” as well as offering her debut album to fans for free one month ahead of scheduled release via The Pirate Bay! In only 3 days, Soso saw over 50K album downloads, 130K+ YouTube plays and brought over 200K fans to her website. That Time I Dug So Deep I Ended Up In China will be released on May 1, 2012.

Green Day is currently in the studio recording three albums – a trilogy entitled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! – that will be released by Reprise Records on Tuesday, September 25th 2012; Tuesday, November 13th 2012 and Tuesday, January 15th 2013 respectively. The albums are the follow-up to the Grammy®Award-winning 21st Century Breakdown, and are being produced by the band’s long-time producer Rob Cavallo. ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! are being recorded in their hometown of Oakland, CA.

Cherri Bomb, who recently unveiled the first entry of an intimate video series entitled Teenage Rock Diaries, have just released the second installment focusing on drummer Nia. The young rocker talks about having fun on tour and what’s it like being the drummer of the band. “No matter how I seem on the outside with my mania and my insanity, being the drummer I am the heartbeat of the band,” says Nia, “and I always put that first.” The clip also features an appearance by members of acclaimed metal act Coal Chamber.

America’s only hard-rock and heavy-metal award show is back for 2012 with Marilyn Manson headlining. Sultry singer-songwriter Melody Gardot has had an extraordinary journey over the last few years. When Gardot was 19 years old, she was riding her bike through an intersection and was hit by a car that ran through a red light. The accident fractured her pelvis, damaged her spine, and left her hypersensitive to light and sound. During her recovery, she discovered music as a form of therapy, even recording and releasing tracks while still in the hospital. Gardot says that being on stage is the only time when she does not feel any pain. “It was addictive,” she recalls about her first few performances.

Now 25 and a global phenomenon, her upcoming album The Absence reflects her time spent travelling the globe in support of her two previous releases, Worrisome Heart and My One and Only Thrill...
