I recently had the chance to check out VNV Nation’s packed-house show at the historic Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia, PA, as well as, sit down for an incredible one-on-one chat with Ronan Harris to discuss VNV Nation’s latest album “Automatic” and more!
VNV Nation never disappoint in a live setting and in my opinion that is the true way their music should be heard! VNV Nation pour their heart and soul into their live performance playing a nearly two and a half hour show each night with not one but two encores. No one could argue that it is not worth the price of the ticket for a fantastic evening of music. Most importantly, Ronan does an amazing job of keeping the audience engaged, he is full of energy and wit which proves to be very infectious. Looking around I could see that the crowd was hanging on to his every word and belting out lyrics to all of their favorite songs.
It is apparent when seeing VNV Nation perform that they truly care about their fans and are very gracious for all the support throughout the years. They made sure to thank the audience several times, and one of the most touching moments came during the final encore when the entire venue sang along to “Perpetual” sans music, just clapping. Their set overall consisted of a mix of old and new opening with “Chrome” and blasting through songs such as “Epicentre”, “Standing”, “Illusion”, “Control”, “Legion”, and “Beloved”. All I can say is VNV Nation put on a show you don’t want to miss!

With the overwhelmingly positive reviews of their eighth album AUTOMATIC and equally stunning live reviews of their current tour, VNV NATION have added a second leg to their North American tour that launches on February 15, 2012 in Nashville at Exit In and will circle the States, playing cities they missed this time around, including the rescheduled dates in Los Angeles and Arizona. With each set clocking in at two hours or more, this tour will be a special extended live event. German electronic dance outfit Straftanz will once again support all dates.
