Check out  the premiere of the video for “Laredo,” the first official single from Band of Horses’ third album Infinite Arms, which was released May 18 by Brown/Fat Possum/Columbia, moving in excess of 45,000 units in its debut week and entering the U.S. chart at a career high #7.

The “Laredo” video was shot on location in Pioneertown, CA, and features footage from an impromptu set the band played at local haunt Pappy & Harriet’s. The clip was produced by Merge @ Crossroads Films.
Following historic headline performances last month including a sold-out inaugural date at Brooklyn, NY’s Williamsburg Waterfront and the first ever AOL Pop Up show at New York City’s Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, Band of Horses has filled in the blanks in its fall 2010 North American itinerary.

The newly confirmed dates will follow highly anticipated September headlines at Los Angeles and Berkeley’s Greek Theaters as well as previously announced September dates in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Denver. The new dates will commence October 1 in Des Moines and stretch to October 30 in Atlanta, sandwiching the band’s October 10 main stage appearance at the Austin City Limits festival.

Infinite Arms was produced by Band of Horses with additional production from Phil Ek and mixed by Dave Sardy, its songs projecting the essence of the different locales across America that became the setting for its recording and songwriting process. The rich musical heritage of Muscle Shoals, AL, the sublime beauty of Asheville’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the glamorous Hollywood Hills and the vast Mojave desert all influenced the sounds on Infinite Arms and helped yield the group’s most focused and dynamic recordings to date. The serene woods of Northern Minnesota and the band’s native Carolinas inspired the songwriting, lending the compositions an air of comfort and familiarity.

Band of Horses is Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds.
