Heidi Newfield
Once the lead singer, guitarist, and harmonica player for Trick Pony, Heidi Newfield now stands alone with her hugely-successful debut solo album What Am I Waiting For. Raised on a variety of music from Loretta Lynn to Led Zepplin and Springsteen to Sam Cooke, her distinctive voice is a result. While writing has always come naturally, she is hard at work to grow with her music, preparing for her follow-up album.
Cory Branan
Perhaps finding his inspiration in his perpetually changing world, he tends to defy genres. While he can write a country song with the best of them, he’s not exactly country and has played more shows with indie/punk bands (ie. Dashboard Confessional, Against Me!) this past year. Typically, he pairs best with artists like The Avett Brothers and Todd Snider. For Branan, it’s great songs first, genre second.
